On July 10, 2019 Patrick C. (age 59, at the time) was riding his bicycle on Hidden Hills Road near Stonewood Drive in the City of Yorba Linda, California.\u00a0 Around 10:00 a.m., defendant, Taylor H. was traveling eastbound on Hidden Hills Road preparing to turn northbound onto Stonewood Circle in her 2003 Toyota Camry.\u00a0 As defendant Mr. H. turned to go northbound on Stonewood Circle, she collided with \u00a0\u00a0plaintiff, Patrick C., who was lawfully within the intersection of westbound Hidden Hills Road along the north curb line.<\/p>\n

Officer B. Swain of the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Department obtained a statement from the Defendant driver, Ms. H., who admitted that she did not see Patrick while making a left turn onto Stonewood Circle from Hidden Hills Road.\u00a0 Officer B. Swain noted property damage of the impact consisted of minor damage to Ms. H.\u2019s vehicle, and Patrick C.\u2019s bicycle suffered major damage.<\/p>\n

Officer Swain determined that Ms. H. was the cause of the accident in that she entered an intersection attempting to make an unsafe left turn in violation of CVC21801(a).<\/p>\n
