The event honored Munmeeth Suni of the Public Law Center with the M. Katherine B. Darmer Outstanding Community Service Award for her work on LGBT Asylum matters and the  Williams Institute with the Community Leadership Award for their groundbreaking research and scholarship on LGBT issues.  Freda Payne of \u201cBand of Gold\u201d fame performed at the event.
