In this month\u2019s <strong>COAST Magazine<\/strong>, Wylie and Bette were featured not once, but twice, in the prominent publication for their involvement in the community.<\/p>\n<p>On August 1<sup>st<\/sup>, over 400 top philanthropists, celebrities and tastemakers\u00a0gathered at a breath-taking ocean-front venue for a star-studded evening of entertainment at <strong>Oceana\u2019s 2015 SeaChange Summer Party<\/strong>. Among those invited to the annual soiree were Wylie and Bette Aitken.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s \u201cMad about the Oceans\u201d event featured <strong>Mad Men<\/strong> Star <strong>Jon Hamm<\/strong>, along with <strong>January Jones, Kiernan Shipka, Sam Waterston, Beth Behrs, Michael Gladis, Aimee Teegarden, Billy Joe Armstrong, Oscar Nunez<\/strong>, and musical performer <strong>Bethany Joy Lenz<\/strong>. Other celebrities in attendance included <strong>Leonardo DiCaprio, Diane Lane, Morgan Freeman<\/strong>, and <strong>Miranda Cosgrove<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Wylie and Bette Aitken helped contribute to the event that raised over one million dollars<strong>.<\/strong> The funds will go towards Oceana\u2019s mission of restoring and protecting our oceans.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4468 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.aitkenlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Coast-Magazine-Sept-2015-WAA-in-Oceana-and-Arts-4-231x300.png\" alt=\"Coast Magazine Sept 2015 - WAA in Oceana and Arts-4\" width=\"220\" height=\"286\" \/>In addition, Wylie and Bette were also featured in\u00a0the promo\u00a0for the upcoming<strong> 16<sup>th<\/sup> Annual\u00a0Orange County Arts Awards<\/strong>. This year, they have been selected as the honorees for the <strong>2015 Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award for Outstanding Arts Patron<\/strong>. Wylie served for five years on the California Arts Council, including two years as its Chair. He also served previously as President of the Board of Trustees of South Coast Repertory, and currently serves on the Board of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
