$107,500: Rear End Accident Leads To Multiple Shoulder Injuries

CASE DESCRIPTION: Rear-end accident leads to multiple shoulder surgeries.

RESULT:  $107,500.00 total settlement

At approximately 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, our client, Shelli M. was operating her 2004 Green Chevrolet Suburban in the number one lane on northbound Redhill Avenue, just north of Edinger.  Shelli M.’s daughter, Kaylyn, was riding in the Suburban as a passenger, seatbelted in the rear center seat.  Shelli M. had traveled in stop-go-traffic for some twenty minutes, when she stopped at the intersection of Redhill and Edinger.  When the light turned green, Shelli M. drove through the intersection, cautiously approached, and upon determining they were clear, crossed the railroad tracks.  Immediately upon clearing the railroad tracks, Shelli M. slowed for traffic stopped immediately ahead of her.  Her vehicle was struck from behind by a white 1994 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Wade W. and insured under Peggy W.  Shelli M.’s vehicle sustained less than $2,000 in property damage.

TYPE OF CASE: Automobile Accident

INJURIES:Shelli M. – Shoulder pain requiring arthroscopic anterior suture capsulorrhaphy.  Subsequent subacromial bursitis requiring surgical intervention.
Mark M. – Loss of Consortium.
Kaylyn M. – Soft-tissue injuries to neck.
