CASE DESCRIPTION: Robert S. was returning home from work in a sport-utility vehicle traveling East on Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach, CA. Robert was a passenger in the right rear seat of the vehicle being driven by a co-worker. As Robert’s vehicle approaches the intersection of Hermosa Ave., it began to slow. While slowing, and without any warning, David P. struck Robert’s vehicle from behind.
Robert had a history of back injuries prior to this incident, including C4-C5 and C5-C6 neck fusions.

DATE OF SETTLEMENT: April 04, 2012
INJURIES: Plaintiff’s physician, Dr. Dobkin, found Robert to have large disc herniation at the C6-C7 below his previous surgery and a small abnormality at the C4-5 level. Dr. Dobkin indicated the Robert’s symptoms were a consequence of this accident, as he had been asymptomatic prior to this accident. On January 10, 2011, Robert subsequently underwent a surgical decompression and fusion of his C6-C7 vertebrae.
