CASE DESCRIPTION: On or around 6:50 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011, Gabriel S. was traveling to work on a blue 2009 Kawasaki EX 250F. Gabriel was heading westbound on Interstate 10 in the #1 lane at approximately 40 to 45 mph west of Azusa Avenue. Around this time, Gabriel was traveling slightly behind and to the left of defendant driver, Teresa L. in the #2 lane. Teresa was driving a silver 2001 Toyota Highlander. As traffic in the #2 lane slowed, Teresa made an unsafe lane change into the #1 lane cutting off Gabriel and causing him to impact the rear of her truck. The motorcycle fell and ejected Gabriel onto the roadway. Gabriel was transported by helicopter to Los Angeles County USC Department of Emergency Medicine.
