May 17, 2024 (LOS ANGELES, Calif.) — Aitken Aitken Cohn founder Wylie Aitken recently attended the prestigious 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala on April 27, 2024, at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, accompanied by his daughter, Anaheim Mayor Ashleigh Aitken.

Both Wylie and Ashleigh Aitken, with deep-rooted pride in their Irish heritage, are esteemed members of the Irish Top 100 Lawyers, an annual compilation honoring the most distinguished legal professionals in the United States.

The AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, a grand celebration of the film industry’s luminaries, was hosted at the renowned Dolby Theatre. Esteemed personalities from the realms of entertainment, law, and culture convened to pay tribute to actress Nicole Kidman’s invaluable contributions. The gala, a testament to the power of philanthropy, raised over $2 million in proceeds for the American Film Institute’s nonprofit endeavors.

Wylie Aitken, a beacon of philanthropy and a champion of the arts, is one of the newest members on the Board of Trustees of the American Film Institute (AFI).

Last year, he made history as the first trial lawyer elected to the Board of Trustees of the American Film Institute. The AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, a pinnacle of the entertainment calendar, honors outstanding individuals who have made enduring contributions to the world of cinema.

“It’s an honor to be part of this respected event, which showcases the intersection of artistry, culture, and philanthropy,” said Aitken.

Aitken is one of the most prominent trial lawyers in California. As the founding partner of the Santa Ana-based law firm Aitken Aitken Cohn, Wylie’s impressive legal career spans more than fifty years.
